About

Where Am I?
Sitting near the cold Atlantic Ocean in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.  Growing in Prince Edward Island provided for a quaint up bringing which I’m very grateful to have had.  The negative is that it is not near a major airport, so it makes getting away a bit more pricey.  The nearest major airport is Halifax, Nova Scotia which is about a 3 hour drive.

When Do I Travel?
Whenever I can!  But seriously, winter is a quite time around P.E.I. so I look to getaway as much as possible.  The lure of all-inclusive destinations are great as they provide upwards of a 50C temperature difference from the -20 blowing winds to the +30 white sands and sunshine.  A week of recharging the batteries can work wonders for work time productivity.

Why Do I Travel?
There are many reasons.  Fun, adventure, excitement, and occasionally, escape. After travelling to over 15 countries so far I’m becoming more and more comfortable with my reasons for travel.  I’m not trying to “find myself” by backpacking europe.  There’s nothing wrong with doing that, but it’s safe to say I’m over that stage.  Besides, as a good friend says “selves aren’t found, they’re made.”

There’s not a lot longing for a different life during my travels.  Sure there are simpler ways of life than the North American one, and there are some bloggers out there doing extraordinary, non-conformist things.  That’s cool, but I’m not trying to be like them.

How Much Do I Travel?
As much as possible!  I’ve got one of those full-time job things so of course there’s certain limitations in the overall amount I can actually take, but a couple trips a year is pretty standard.  During 2009, I sold my house and bought a car, so much of the finances weren’t in place to accommodate large travel plans.  2010 however is looking to be a much better travel year.

This blog hope to track my thoughts on travel, share a few photos, and experiences of the roads in 2010 and onwards.
